Andrew Thompson is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Proteus Biomedical, leading the company since its inception. He is also a co-founder and Managing Partner of Spring Ridge Ventures (SRV), an early stage investor in technology based health care companies which provided the initial capital for Proteus.

From 1994-1999, Mr. Thompson co-founded and served as a Director and Chief Executive Officer of FemRx until the company was acquired by Johnson & Johnson. Previously, Mr. Thompson co-founded CardioRhythm (1991-1994) and served as Chief Financial Officer during which time Medtronic acquired the company. He has been a non-executive Director of several private companies and played a key role in the execution of successful exit strategies.

Mr. Thompson worked for Mayfield Fund Venture Partner Mark Levin from 1989-1991, assisting in the start-up of biotechnology companies. From 1985 to 1987, he was a consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton.

Andrew Thompson has an M.A. in engineering from Cambridge University, where he was a United Kingdom National Engineering Scholar, an M.A. in education from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
